2011 British Academy Television Awards: ?Sherlock? Win Double Prizes


Hosted by Graham Norton, the British Academy Television Awards 2011 took place at Grosvenor House on Sunday night (May 22, 2011). It is one of the most prestigious TV awards ceremonies of the year.

The big winner of this year is “Sherlock”, an update version of Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic stories, with two prizes including the best drama series title and best supporting actor for Martin Freeman.

Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress respectively belong to Vicky McClure in “This is England ’86” and Lauren Socha in “Misfits”. Young comedian Daniel Rigby takes home Best Actor award for his role in “Eric And Ernie”.

ITV show “The Cube”, presented by Phillip Schofield, earns the entertainment programme prize

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall takes home the Features award
