Anjum Rizvi Film Company is an Indian Film and Television production house. The company was set up in Mumbai to provide quality entertainment to the audience. The company has produced a few Bollywood movies.
The company first produced an Internationally acclaimed docu-drama, ‘A Mermaid Called Aida’ (1996). It was directed by Riyad Vinci Wadia. ARFC next produced Zee TV’s serial, ‘Daayre’ (1999-2001). The show starring Karan Shah, Aamir Bashir, Sadhana Singh, Nishigandha, Navni Parihar, Nilanjana, Siraj Khan, Anju Mahendru, Tom Alter etc., was directed by Khursheed Latif. The company produced a tele film for Channel 9 Gold. The tele film was titled, ‘Ankhiyon Ke Jharonkhon se’ (2001). It was directed by Anil Ganguly and starred Bhagyashree, Samir Soni and Nilanjana Sharma. Another tele film produced by Anjum Rizvi Film Company was ‘Sethu’ (2002), for E-TV Hindi. The tele film was directed by Nishkant Kamat and starred Vikram Gokhale, Jyoti Mukherjee, Nivedita Bhattacharya and Rajita Kochhar.
Hungama TV’s tele serial, ‘Paowan’ (2004) was Anjum Rizvi Film Company’s next produce. The 27 episodes produced by the company were directed by Zaigam Ali Sayed. ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’ for Zee TV was the next tele film that was produced by the company. The tele film directed by Nanditha Yadav starred Meera Vasudevan and Abbas Khan.
The movie, first produced by Anjum Rizvi was CHARAS: A JOINT EFFORT (2004). The multi-starrer movie was directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.
AHISTA AHISTA (2006) was ARFC’s next film production. The movie starred Abhay deol, Soha Ali Khan and Shayan Munshi. It was directorial debut of Director Shivam Nair with a story much closer to the Fyodor Dostoevsky’s short story, White Nights, on which an earlier Raj Kapoor film CHHALIA (1960) was also based.
ARFC only produce of the year 2008 was, A WEDNESDAY (2008). The movie was co-produced with Ronnie Screwvala and Shital Bhatia. The movie was not only liked by the audience but was also critically acclaimed.
In 2009, Anjum Rizvi produced FAST FORWARD (2009). Anjum Rizvi Film Company co-presented it with Y.T. Entertainment Ltd. The film directed by Zaigham Ali Sayed, had Vinod Khanna, Rehan Khan, Akshay Kapoor, Bhavna Pani, Mahesh Manjrekar, Siddhant Karnick, Sheena Shahabadi and Sabina Sheema in the star cast. The movie was about people passionate about dance. It was a mixture of drama, conflict, emotions, romance and thrills. The movie failed to do wonders at the Box Office.
INDIA METRO 2010 (release date not announced) directed by Nanditha Yadav and FLAT (release date not announced) directed by Hemant Madhukar are two upcoming movie of the Production Company.
